The school is set in Henham Village, enabling easy access for families living in Stansted, Bishop’s Stortford, Newport and surrounding villages. Being a one form entry school means we know our children well. We put great emphasis on meeting individual needs within a supportive and stimulating environment.
We have a strong focus on developing the academic skills of our children; preparing them for the next stage in their learning journey, as well as developing their creative, emotional and social skills through our broad range of additional experiences and after school clubs.
Our provision begins at Nursery, with specialist staff ensuring the very best start for your children. With a dedicated, high quality, purpose built nursery, the children are able to settle into their new learning environment with ease. Many of our children continue at the school after Nursery – surroundings are familiar and the transition feels very natural.
We also offer a breakfast and after school club facility throughout the school week. Our wraparound care is provided on site by our own staff and enables working parents to drop their children off from 7.15am and latest pick up is at 6.15pm. This is pre-booked and paid for using our simple online school payment system and childcare vouchers are also accepted.
Henham has an active Parent Staff Association (PSA) that raises highly valued additional funds for the school. This money enables us to buy new equipment and technology which has a direct impact on our children’s learning. We are fortunate enough to have a very committed and skilled Governing Board that works closely with the school to ensure Henham is a special place to learn.
